police officer, died Friday (Oct. 3, 2008). Services: 10 a.m. Monday, Holy Cross Lutheran
Church, Vandalia. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and one hour before services in the
church. Burial: Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia, with military rites. Arrangements by: Hohlt
& File Funeral Home, Vandalia. Memorials: Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Korean War Army
veteran. Member: Holy Cross Lutheran Church and Crawford-Hale American Legion Post 95,
Vandalia. Survivors: wife, Beatrice; sons, John William Cearlock, Charles Eugene Cearlock
