Seeking information about David CARLOCK/CURLOCK, b. 1839 - 1840, Bowling Green, Warren
Co., KY, or IL. I am attempting to prove my theory that the following two individuals are
one in the same. The only source that I have so far for the first set of information is
material received from another CARLOCK/CEARLOCK researcher over 20 years ago. I have
several sources for the second set of information, but am still looking for corrections
and additional documentation. I have recently been in contact with one of the descendants
of David CURLOCK of Jefferson Co., IL, who reports the information that David's first
marriage took place in Fayette Co., IL.
1. David CARLOCK (s/o Jacob CARLOCK/CARELOCK, George W. CARLOCK/CEARLOCK), mother's
name unknown; b. 1838, IL; m. Elizabeth, who was b. 1840, OH. (I am also descended from
George W. CARLOCK/CEARLOCK, b. ca. 1779, NC; m. Rachel LANDERS, Oct. 11, 1805, Warren Co.,
KY; family migrated to Fayette Co., IL; d. ca. 1862, possibly Montgomery Co., IL.)
2. David CURLOCK, b. 1839, Bowling Green, Warren Co., KY; m#1. Rebecca, before 1857,
reportedly Fayette Co., IL, divorced, after which she reportedly went to TX with her
family; m#2. Elizabeth "Bets" BOOK, Nov. 9, 1858, Jefferson Co., IL (Elizabeth
b. 1838, IL, d. Jan. 1910); m#3. Elizabeth Turman HICKS, after 1865; d. Aug. 16, 1906,
AR.
I would be especially interested in any records showing Jacob to be the father of David.
Has anyone found Jacob's family on the 1850 census, perhaps in Fayette Co., IL? Has
anyone found a record listing a more exact birthdate or birthplace for David?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
