The following posting which appeared on the LANDIS list yesterday refers to
the newsletter "Landers Landings" which was published from 1981 through 1991.
Those newsletters are available on-line at the following site:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~sweetpoe/llandings/llandings.html
George W. CARLOCK/CEARLOCK, b. ca. 1779, NC, and his wife Rachel LANDERS, b.
Oct. 11, 1805, Warren Co., KY, were direct ancestors of one of our two lines
of CEARLOCKs. I subscribed to this newsletter at the time it was originally
published and have referenced it numerous times in the reports which appear
on my home page. As you will recall from my Aug. 3, 2000, posting to this
list, it is through Rachel LANDERS's LANDIS/LANDERS and GUTKNECHT/GOODNIGHT
ancestors that this branch of CEARLOCKs is related to President Harry S.
TRUMAN and the famous Texas cattleman and trail blazer Colonel Charles
GOODNIGHT. For a detailed report of Rachel's GUTKNECHT/GOODNIGHT ancestry,
refer to my Mar. 16, 2000 posting to the GOODNIGHT list. The archives of
this and other Rootsweb mailing lists can be accessed through the following

For further information about Rachel's ancestry, refer to the report on my
home page titled "User Home Page Genealogy Report: Ancestors of Susan Elaine
"Sue" CEARLOCK". Rachel's parents can be found under generation 10,
people
514 and 515, along with their 13 children. Rachel's grandparents can be
found under generation 11, people 1028 and 1029, along with their 11
children, and people 1030 and 1031, along with their 8 children. One of
Rachel's great-grandparents, name unknown, can be found under generation 12,
person 2060, along with 3 of his children who migrated to America.

Good Afternoon
I wanted to let you know that after going over my site I was VERY unhappy and
disappointed in the way that the newsletters were coming up so large, so I
FINALLY have found a program that has fixed the problem. It will take a few
days or so but will get them down to size so that everyone will be able to
read them without difficulty.
Happy Holidays
Stacie
