"Genevie Louise Schnetzer
Genevie Louise (Cearlock) Schnetzer, 80, Blue Springs, Mo., passed away Tuesday, May 24,
2005, at Independence Regional Health Center.
Mrs. Schnetzer was born January 21, 1925, to William and Gladys (Hicks) Cearlock near the
Oak Valley Pentecostal Church, between Nokomis and Ramsey, Ill. She graduated from
Vandalia High School in 1942. She married Irvin Dale Schnetzer, who preceded her in death
on July 24, 1998. She was a waitress at many restaurants, those including the Chunute
(Ill.) Air Base restaurant, Hawthone Cafe, Holiday Inn-Noland Road, Roettes Truckstop,
Stabiles Restaurant and Tandras Restaurant. She then retired from Western Electric as a
machine setter. Her nickname was 'Generator Gennie.' She enjoyed helping people by
being a fill-in mother for those who were away from their own mother or whose mothers had
passed on. She enjoyed cooking for people at her home, going to church, and spending time
with her extended family and pets. She also collected figurines and glassware. She was a
member of the First Baptist church of Grain Valley. She was also preceded in death by a
sister, Marjorie Alice Wr!
ight, and brothers, LaVerle and Jack Keith Cearlock.
Her survivors include a son, William Schnetzer and wife, Nancy, Blue Springs;
grandchildren, Anthony Schnetzer, Blue Springs, and Gail and Gary Wesselschmidt, Lee's
Summit, Mo.; and great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Marlee and Bailee Wesselschmidt.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 27, at the First Baptist Church of Grain
Valley. Burial will be in Blue Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to
10:30 a.m. Friday at the church. The family suggests memorial contributions to the First
Baptist Church of Grain Valley. Arrangements are under the direction of Webb-Freer Funeral
Home, Blue Springs, (816) 229-2101."
