1949 ~ Apr. 30, 2011 Beverly Lynn Cearley Westmoreland, 61, passed away
Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Moses Cone Hospital. Beverly was born on
August 16, 1949 in Forsyth County to the late William DeWitt and Helen
Bennett Cearley. She was a member of Oak Ridge United Methodist Church,
loved to crochet and was an avid crafter in addition to being a fabulous
cook. In her free time, she enjoyed working in her herb garden and
fishing for striped bass at Smith Mountain Lake. In addition to her
parents, Beverly was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Snow.
Surviving are her husband, of 41 years, Richard 'Dickie' Westmoreland,
of the home; one son, Jeff Westmoreland (wife, Meredith) of Holly
Springs; two granddaughters, Julia and Sydney Westmoreland; one brother,
William D. Cearley, Jr. (wife, Tammy) of Stokesdale; one sister, Robin
McCuiston (husband, Jim) of Summerfield; sisters-in-law, Linda Goodwin
(husband, Don), Carolyn Glave (husband, Denny); brothers-in-law, Mike
Westmoreland (wife, Gail) and Steve Westmoreland; numerous nieces and
nephews; a special friend, Carolyn Clodfelter; and her beloved dog,
"Rowdy". A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2011
at Oak Ridge UMC with Rev. Michael Kurtz and Rev. Karen Kurtz
officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, May 2, 2011 from 6
8 p.m. at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel, 141 Smith Edwards Road,
Kernersville, NC 27284. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to
Hospice & Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summitt Avenue,
