Services for Jimmie L. Wilson, 81, of Killeen will be at 10 a.m.
Saturday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Killeen with Keith
Cormier and Joe Baisden officiating.
Burial will follow at Killeen Memorial Park.
Mrs. Wilson died May 28, 2002, at a local nursing home.
She was born Nov. 3, 1920 in Schwertner and had been a lifelong
resident of Central Texas.
Mrs. Wilson graduated in 1938 as valedictorian of Salado High
School.
She had worked for Cochran, Blair & Potts in Belton and for H&R
Block.
Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker and a member of The Southside Church
of Christ in Killeen, where she was a Sunday school teacher.
She was also a member of the National Association of Retired
Federal Employees, a den mother for the Cub Scouts, a volunteer leader
for the Girl Scouts, a past president of the Killeen PTA, a life member
of the Texas State PTA, a volunteer for the Bell Haven Nursing Center
and a precinct election judge.
Survivors include a son, Larry N. Wilson of El Paso; a daughter,
Carol L. Wubbena of San Marcos; six grandchildren; and two great
grandchildren. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband,
Chester Wilson; and a brother Howel O. Cearley.
The family will receive visitors from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at
the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or The
Southside Church of Christ.
