Abena M. Caywood, 80, of Crete, formerly of Country Club Hills, died Friday, May 29 at
Rockford (Ill.) Memorial Hospital. Services were Monday with prayers at Tews Funeral
Home, Homewood, and Mass at St. Liborius Church, Steger. Internment was at Holy Cross
Cemetery, Calumet City.
Mrs. Caywood was born Feb. 7, 1912, in St. Louis. She was a legal secretary for the
Federal Trade Commission, retiring in 1976. She was a member of St. Liborius Church and
National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
Mrs. Caywood is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Apgar of Crete and Jeanne Dorf of
Briarcliff Manor, NY; a brotoher, Charles Pabian, of Ponte Vedra, Florida; and three
grandchildren, Brian Newton, Aaron and Jennifer Dorf.
NOTE: Albena was the wife of Curtis V. Caywood.
