I am Japanese but my mother's family name is Cayton. I went to Oxford U in
England, UK and during my stint there, I had the opportunity to visit
Yorkshire and Lancashire, two places in England where there are Caytons
although the ones in Yorkshire seem to be the original ones with a town
there even bearing the name "Cayton" near what they call the "Cayton
Bay."
My great ancestor's name was Thomas Cayton, who was reportedly a sailor with
the Royal Navy sometime in the 1762-64.
My mother was Filipino-American from California, USA.

Subject: [CAYTON] Re: Help Keep This List Active
Hi Everyone;
I had done some limited research on the surname Caton/Cayton and then my
DNA results showed that Jacob and Margaret Huffman Cayton are my 6th
gGrandparents, their son, William Cayton and 2nd wife, Mary Susan unknown
maiden name; their son, William Jacob and Nancy Brock Cayton; their dau.,
Margaret Jane and Aaron Gerard Stephenson are my 3rd gGrandparents. Their
dau. Nancy Ellen Stephenson and her 1st husband, Silas Liles (big brick in
my research); their son Edward Gerard and his 2? wife, Laura Anna Goodale,
dau. Lillian Evalina Liles and Anthony Nicolas Unknown Greek
surname(Heraklion, Crete, Greece)"Lewis"; son, Anthony Edward Lewis and
Margaret Jean Mallory are my parents.
I would love to see more action on this Cayton site also.
Good Day,
Mallory Cook
