Unfortunately, I do not know enough about the testing to answer
all of your questions. I **think** that the KOEHLER/CAYLOR DNA
project is one, including all variations of the name. My husband
could do the test for our line. I had to get a male 4th cousin to do
the one for my BRIDGES family. And, the BRIDGES family DNA
includes any and all spellings. As I recall, the test cost about $130.
I do know that it is a simple and non-invasive test that is done in
the privacy of your home. It is simply a matter of swabbing the inside
of the cheek.
For us, the test could be a huge help. After about 30 years of
searching, we are not yet sure of any sibling or parental connections
to my husband's Ggrandfather, who is the one who originally came to
the US in about 1850. (Though we do have mega amounts of info
about his descendants.)
I will try to get more information, about the testing, which I will then
share with all of you. Keep your fingers crossed for me, please.

Is the Koehler-Caylor DNA project, one project or two? It just
raised my
curiosity.
I can understand the need for a couple of my other lines, as there is too
much unknown about them. But I know a lot about this surname and I am
wondering if I would be interested or not. You have to have a male tester
who will volunteer for the test. The test isn't cheap, and I just do not
think I'd be interested at this time.
Thanks!
