Eugene David Caylor - 73- Bay St. Louis, passed away Monday, July 23, 2007. He lived a
very full life, traveling the world in recent years working for his own company repairing
air conditionings for aircraft carriers of the seven fleet during the Iranian crisis of
the 1980's. He was born in Baxter Springs, KS, grew up in Joplin, MO and settled with
his wife and children in Long Beach, MS. He served his country in the Korean War. He met
his first wife (Juliette Wallace Caylor), mother of his children, at Keesler in 1954, when
they were married. He was a charter member of the Long Beach Yacht Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orleigh and Anna Burns Caylor of Joplin, MO, 3
brothers, Orland Caylor, Leroy Stratton and Kenneth Caylor and 2 sisters, Colleen Stratton
McKnight and Imogene Stratton Robison Watkins and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Pecarik.
He is survived by his second wife, Julie Elliot Caylor, six children, David Caylor
(Sherry) of Long Beach, Valerie Owenby (Ray) of Woolmarket, Judy Noble of Saucier, Kathy
Farrell (Bobby) of Gulfport, Robert Caylor (Sonya) of Gulfport, and Michael Caylor (Nita)
of Brandon, three step children, Stephanie Hoops (Fred) of Biloxi and Tommy Dean and Paul
Elliot, 25 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, three brothers, Melvin, Jimmy and
Delbert Caylor and two sisters, Ruth Caylor Trewin and Helen Stratton all of Missouri.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the home of his daughter, Valerie, in
Woolmarket. Friends are invited to join in the celebration of his life.
