Do you know if your Cayler/Caylor family was from Dayton (Montgomery County)
or were they from Fayette County? I have done a lot of research on the
Fayette and Ross County families but I do not find a Jacob who matches
yours. The Dayton family has been very well researched but so far as I know
there is no proven connection between them and the Ross and Fayette folks.
Hope this helps.

Looking for information on my great-great grandfather Jacob Caylor. He
was born abt 1838 in OH. He married Emmeline Heiney in 1861 and they had
four children, Elmer, Harley, Frank, and Joseph Milford. My line is
through Frank. I believe our family was originally from either England or
Germany so the surname may have had a different spelling. I think much of
them came through Pennsylvania and traveled west dropping off branches in
OH, IN, IL and other parts farther west. Appreciate any help with
information
