Message Board Post:
I've seen mention of Anthony before (from the woman in Australia):
"There was also a Mary MacAuley, aged 16, daughter of Anthony MacAuley from the
townland of Garrynagran, who married John Dooher on 9 March 1873. They were also married
in the Moygownagh Church by James MacAuley Parish Priest." but she didn't have
any info that definitely connected Anthony to John Cawley/Mary Molloy. I'd be
extremely interested in any details wrt that especially dates (and their sources). How old
was Anthony in the 1901 census?
The Australian woman's Cawley ancestor was a Mark Cawley who the N. Mayo genealogy
center thought was descended from John Cawley/Mary Molloy but couldn't prove. They did
say her Mark
had a sister Bridget MacAuley who married Patrick Clifford in the parish of Moygownagh
around 1864. No actual marriage record located but their first child Patrick was born 11
July 1865. There is no record of Mark's birth or marriage, however, using various
other dates she determined that his birth had to be before 1820.
