John, My name is Regina Murray Nau. My grandmother's (Bridget Canavan) brother,
Patrick Canavan was with the group from Lahardane who traveled to the US on the Titanic
with you father's aunt Annie Kelly. Patrick perished along with his direct cousin
Mary Canavan. I believe that most of the group were related through marriages. My
grandmother, Bridget Cananvan was the daughter of Anthony and Bridget KELLY Canavan.
Bridget Kelly had a brother John and I believe it was his daughter Annie who survived the
disaster.
To go back another generation, Bridget and John Kelly were the children of David and
Catherine Ruane Kelly.
My Canavan's came to Philadelphia to settle, which is where Patrick Canavan was on his
way that fateful trip. His cousin Mary Canavan was on her way to Chicago, as were the
Bourkes and Flynns. The first Canavan that came to Philadelphia in my direct line was a
Kate Canavan. She came to live with the "THOMAS CAWLEY" family. Kate came here
in 1908 and the CAWLEY's were living in Chester, PA (outside of Philadelphia). Kate
and Thomas were cousins - by marriage. Thomas' wife was a Catherine RUANE.
According to the ships passenger list Annie was on her way to her cousins house, Beatrice
Kelly of 303 Eugene St, Chicago, IL How is she related.
I would love to hear from you as there is no doubt a connection between your family and
mine.
Regards
Regina Murray Nau
