Mrs. Diana E., wife of Cyrus M. Cawley, 40 North Twelfth St., died Sunday morning at 4
o’clock in the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia, following an operation
performed Tuesday. Mrs. Cawley was removed to the hospital on October 30 for the removal
of a cataract over the left eye. The operation was successfully performed but a
development of complications two days later caused her death. Mrs. Cawley was a native of
Lower Milford. She was a daughter of the late Samuel K. and Mary M. Carl, nee Huber, and
was aged 65 years, 11 months and 16 days. She was united marriage to Mr. Cawley on Nov.
23 1878. Two daughters were born to the union, they being Mrs. Herbert J. Kleppinger and
Miss Elsie S., both at home. Four sisters, Mrs. George M. Cawley, Philadelphia; Mrs. O.
H. Urffer and Miss Ella Carl, Emaus, and Mrs. Preston Sterner, Mickleys, also survive.
Mrs. Cawley was a devout member of Salem’s Reformed church. The funeral will be held
fro!
m her late home on Thursday at 1.30 o’clock. Services will be conducted at the house by
Rev. J. M. G. Darms, pastor of Salem Reformed church. Interment will be made at the
convenience of the family in Fairview cemetery.
