Rita, I am from the Tenn. Cavitt's. I saw your wonderful web
page. How ceative you are! Can you
help me in anyway to link up my Cavitt names? You have
obviously done alot of research. I will run a
brief history of my family by you. My ggrandfather was born in
1833, We think Bentley Co. but my
grandmother said he was from Paris, needless to say we thought
France. Imagine how all these
years I thought I was french, only to discover it was Paris
Tenn! My grandmother would say he built
BIG boats and thats why they lived close to the water. His
name was George Washington Cavitt
(there are many) I need to find out who his first wife is. I
do have childrens names, however, they are:
Bill C., Jim, Annie, and Vinnie. These were the names my
grandmother called them. She said they
were all grown up when she was born.(1877). If he met his
2nd. wife in Tenn. is unclear. That was my
ggrandmother, who also was from Tenn. but by the time the 10
children they had together were born
they lived in Mo. Then they went on to Tx. which toke many
years, their baby daughter Murtle dies of
measles on way to Ak. Then my ggrandmother dies a few years
later. Her name was Mary Sexton
Stewart(first husband) Cavitt. Who evers left go's on to Tx.
and end up in Ada,Ok. where he was alive
in 1913, as I have a post card sent to him by his youngest
daughter. It was sent from Paragould Ak.
where she was living at the time. I have the 10 childrens
names if of help. Thank you, Kathleen
