MADISON CO Obituary - "Mr. Richard Cavett, an old and respectable
Citizen of thus County, died . at his residence on the 11th instant,
aged 80 years and 5 months. His health had been declining for many years
and his departure was anticipated by him with resignation and composure.
He was a soldier of the Revolution and also of the late war; and had
given frequent proof of his devotion to his country. He was long an
acceptable member of the Baptist Church, and died in the faith of a
happy change of existence. He was an industrious and enterprising
Citizen and realized by his own exertions an independent forture. He has
left a large number of descendants and connections to lament his loss.
The newspapers of Knoxvllle, Tenn and Little Rcck, Ark. will please

Obituary of Rutha Cavett - "Died in this county on the 5th instant in
the 77th year of her age, Mrs. Rutha Cavett, wife of the venerable
Richard Cavett, a patriot of the Revolution. Mrs. Cavett was for 54
years a professor of religion and for the 8 past 20 years attached to
the Baptist Church. She was the mother of 11 children. The Knoxvllle
Argus and Little Rock Gazette will please copy the above." From
Huntsville (Ala.) Democrat, Dec. 14, 1843.
