probate, and of his second wife Susan Cavitt, whose will is dated 9th
July 1856 in
Vol. A, Page 3, we have connected this Moses Cavitt to the main trunk
of the Moses (Ist) Cavet family by supposing this man to be the brother
of Andrew Cavitt. Even though the names of some of his children carry
the old family stand-bys, there are innovations in naming some of
Susan's children which may prove eye-popping to some Cavitts.
J. Moses (Ist) Cavet
A. Patric Cavet
1. Richard Cavitt, married Margaret
a. Moses Cavitt born 1784, married (lst) Elizabeth., 2nd Susan
(1) James Alexander Cavitt, born 2-24-1856, Van Zant Co., Texas, married
Phoebe Ann Eliza Seay
(a) Enoch Matthew Marion Cavitt
This brings the nine generations chronology down to the present
generation with the children, grand-children and great-grand-children of
Enoch M. M. Cavitt recorded to the fullest of the information
available. For this we are indebted to Stella Ann Cavitt Herod.
I. MOSES AND ELIZABETH CAVITT'S CHILDREN:
A. Margaret Jane Cavitt, Married Wren
B. Canada Cavitt
MOSES AND SUSAN CAVITT'S CHILDREN:
C. George Ann Mary Elizabeth Cavitt
D. Mositta (Mosettia) America Jane Cavitt
E. Richard Dudley Brooks Cavitt
F. John Wesley Cavitt
G. James Alexander Cavitt, married Phoebe Ann Eliza Seay
H. Andrew Jackson Carroll Scott Cavitt
I. Martha Ellen Cavitt
J. Leah Docia Derotha Dulcena Cavitt
These ten children are named in Moses Cavitt's will.
In his will drawn March 2, 1853, Moses Cavitt states that he had been
married before he
married Susan to one Elizabeth (now deceased) and his will speaks first
of
"my beloved daughter Margaret Jane Wren and my son Canada Cavitt" to
whom he gave $10.00 each. Also to my beloved daughter George Ann Mary
Elizabeth Cavitt" who is not named by Susan as her child. So possibly
she had died before her mother's will was drawn,
