1749 York was created out of original Lancaster Co.
1750 Cumberland was created out of Lancaster Co.
1752 Berks was created out of Chester and Philadelphia
1752 There were 3977 taxables
1772 Northumberland was formed from Cumberland
1785 Paxtang was earliest name (embraced several townships) Dauphin was
formed from Lancaster-Middle Paxton Paxtang Township, Lancaster now is
Dauphin Co. Connestoga Township was original Township of Lancaster
1812 Paxtang became Harrisburg in this year
