Kathy Robertson
Michael Witherspoon
Kathy: Yes, Michael Witherspoon can be reached on the Cavitt list.
Michael: Yes, your William Lapsley Wrenn surely got his middle name from
his great-grandmother. I've come upon eight or ten other descendants
over a period of six generations who bore Lapsley as a middle name and a
couple for whom it was a first name. Their surnames included: Armstrong,
Morrison, Richmond and Cavitt. Curiously, the Lapsley's were not a
particularly noteworthy family.
I am sending you a draft copy of the first three chapters of the
Armstrong book my wife and I are working on, together with introductory
material. Therein is everything I know about the Tinnin connection.
I very recently came into contract with a man who has just published a
book about the Mebane family, a prominent senior member of which married
one Sarah Tinnin. We have not yet exchanged data, but it is apparent
that he has done extensive research on Orange County society 1750 thru'
the American Revolution. Hopefully, he will have better information
about the intertwined Allen, Anderson, Armstrong, Lapsley, Lloyd, Mebane
and Tinnin families than I.
