MADISON CO Obituary - "Mr. Richard Cavett, an old and respectable Citizen of thus
County, died . at his residence on the 11th instant, aged 80 years and 5 months. His
health had been declining for many years and his departure was anticipated by him with
resignation and composure. He was a soldier of the Revolution and also of the late war;
and had given frequent proof of his devotion to his country. He was long an acceptable
member of the Baptist Church, and died in the faith of a happy change of existence. He was
an industrious and enterprising Citizen and realized by his own exertions an independent
forture. He has left a large number of descendants and connections to lament his loss. The
newspapers of Knoxvllle, Tenn and Little Rcck, Ark. will please copy."(From

Obituary of Rutha Cavett - "Died in this county on the 5th instant in the 77th year
of her age, Mrs. Rutha Cavett, wife of the venerable Richard Cavett, a patriot of the
Revolution. Mrs. Cavett was for 54 years a professor of religion and for the 8 past 20
years attached to the Baptist Church. She was the mother of 11 children. The Knoxvllle
Argus and Little Rock Gazette will please copy the above." From Huntsville (Ala.)
