Moses and Agnes Cavett's son, John Cavett, was born about 1767 in what was
then Augusta County, VA. He accompanied his father and mother to Sullivan
County (then NC, later TN) when Moses entered land there in 1778. This John Cavett
appears to have purchased 136 acres of land in Sullivan County after Moses
Cavett sold his iron works in 1795. He sold that land on August 4, 1804. This
John Cavett then moved to Jefferson County and bought the below described land
where he lived for about 3 1/2 years prior to selling it in early 1808. He
then moved to Wilson County.
