Moses and Agnes Nancy Meetch Cavett's son, Thomas Cavett, was an officer in
the Knox County Militia from 1812 - 1822. Cavett's Company is mentioned in the
Knox County Court Minutes twenty-two times between October 1815 and July
1822. Thomas Cavett was born circa 1786 in Sullivan County, TN, and came to Knox
County with his family in 1795.

Samuel Swan, Justice of the Peace for said County and made oath that they had
judged an election for Lieutenant and Ensign in Captain French's Company without
