Moses and Agnes Cavett's son, John Cavett, was born about 1767 in what was
then Augusta County, VA. He accompanied his father and mother to Sullivan
County (then NC, later TN) when Moses entered land there in 1778. This John Cavett
is listed in the 1796 and 1797 Sullivan County Tax Lists as owning the below
referenced property. After selling this tract of land, John Cavett moved to
Jefferson County.

Indenture made this 4th day of August 1804 between John Cavatt of the one
part and Henry Mank of the other, both of the County of Sullivan and State of
Tennessee, it being for and in consideration of the sum of 400 dollars to him in
hand paid, receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge, hath bargained and sold
and by these presence doth grant, bargain, and sell unto the said Henry Mank
a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County and State
aforesaid, beginning at a Hickory on South bank of Holston River, it being on
Charles Allen's line, south 176 poles to a stake, thence a new line 50 [poles]
east to a white oak, then on or near Henry Mank's line [to the] birchs of
Phillip's, north 55 east 98 poles to a white oak, thence along a line north 46 east
46 poles to a white oak on Holston River bank, thence down the Holston River
north 32 west 80 poles to a stake, thence down the river various courses in
_______________ Holston River to beginning, containing 136 acres be the same more
or less, together with all ways, waters, water courses __________
appertainances whatever contained wherein the aforesaid courses________ whatever of him
the said John Cavatt and his heirs forever to him the said Henry Mank and his
heirs forever to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with their
appertainances and the said John Cavatt his heirs and assigns, shall make,
warrant and defend all other claims to the said Henry Mank his heirs and etc., in
witness whereof the said John Cavatt hath hereunto set his hand and seal the
day and date above written in the presence of
