As I mentioned previously, the Sons of the American
Revolution have placed a monument at the site of the
Cavitt Station Massacre. I have not yet refound my
photographs, but I did find a copy of the inscription
on the monument.
It is, as follows:

To the Defenders of
Cavitt Blockhouse
Upon this spot stood the house of Alexander Cavett who was murdered together with two men
and the Cavitt family of twelve September 25th, 1793 After heroes resistance against a
combined Creek and Cherokee force numbering one thousand warriors, thereby insuring
failure of the intended attack upon the town of Knoxville.
