No, Alexander Cavett was Thomas Cavett's uncle; Alexander was the brother of
Thomas' father, Moses Cavett, and also the brother of Richard and Michael
Whitley Cavett.
Moses and Agnes Cabett's son, Richard Cavett, stated in his Revolutionary War
pension declaration that his parents had five daughters and four sons. From
what I have been able to piece together, including info from this List, their
children were:
Richard Cavett, born in 1765, per his Revolutionary War pension application,
in Augusta County, VA.
John Cavett, born in 1766 or 1767 in Augusta County, VA. Lived successively
in Botetourt and Fincastle Countiies, VA and in Sullivan, Jefferson and Wilson
Counties, TN.
Susanna Cavett, born in 1768 in Augusta County, VA; first married William
Shoemaker in 1789 in Sullivan County, TN, and second married John Moses.
Rebecca Cavett, who first married a man named Bosley and later married John
Holloway on 3/17/1790 in Sullivan County, TN, and later moved to Roane County,
TN.
Moses Cavett married a woman named Elizabeth, moved to Madison County, MO,
and died there by 1823, leaving widow Elizabeth, a son Isaac Cavett, and a
daughter, Elizabeth Cavett O'Donel.
Thomas Cavett, born about 1786, married Mary Neff in 1806, divorced her in
1815 in Knox County, and was a captain of the Knox County, TN militia from 1812
- 1822. Left Knox County in 1824 and nothing definitive is known about him
thereafter.
Judith (Betsey) Cavett married Jonah Bowman on 1/15/1799 in Knox County.
Daughter Cavett, died before 1802 or disinherited. May be the Elizabeth
Cavett who married William D. Butler on 2/7/1800 in Knox County, TN.
Daughter Cavett, died before 1802 or disinherited.
