Alexander Cavett's brother, Moses Cavett, served for about two
years in
the
Sullivan County (TN) Militia under Shelby and others, ranged all over the
south
and was involved in skirmishes and battles with the British and Tories
during
the Revolutionary War.
Moses Cavett's son, Thomas Cavett, was a Lieutenant and later a Captain in
the Knox County (TN) Militia during the War of 1812. Moses Cavett's son,
John
Cavett, was a Private in Captain Thomas Bradley's Company of Colonel John
Coffee's Regiment of West Tennessee Volunteer Cavalry during the War of
1812.
