Thought I would send out the URL for the autobiography of David Fanning .To any of you who
have really looked into the history of Randolph Co NC.You understand that this man
headquartered ,and rampaged in immediate area of Randolph Co. where Caviness later
settles in Randolph Co NC .His headquarters in Cox mill was nearly next door to where the
Caviness family later migrated to in 1799. I am sending this URL so that some of you can
see that he indeed did marry the Sarah who was the sister of the William Carr, He is
one of the men who acted as executor of Sarah Caviness estate when she died intestate in
1803.
This is the Sarah Carr who it is claimed ,married William Caviness , who was born in 1765
in
Granville Co NC .It is the same Sarah who died in 1803 leaving orphans Benjamin ,Elizabeth
, Susannah ,Polly.
This should prove that who ever this Sarah Caviness was, she was not a Carr, It should
also start those who descend from Elizabeth wife of Fredrick Caviness to start looking
for Elizabeths identity .If she and Sarah were both sisters ,as stated in this book.
Actually William Carr did not even have an Elizabeth as a sister according to Joseph Carrs
Will he names daughter Susannah ,son William Carr, and son Robert and son in law Rolly
Spinks (the other executor of Sarahs estate).I would look to the name Walker for Elizabeth
and Sanders for Sarah . at least I would start there and I would remember I am looking in
Mecklenburg Co Va where the families lived ,I would remember that this family did not move
to Randolph Co ,NC or Chatham Co NC until 1799 .I am assuming that of course there are
Caviness out there who are interested . Patricia Perkins
