Having found that this list is still here .I want to see if anyone else
subscribes to it as we have been inactive for so long .Could we perhaps do a
roll call ,as a way to see how many Caviness folks are researching this
family.I am looking for descendants of Richard Caviness born about 1754
perhaps to a Henry Caviness he is believed to be a brother to at least
Matthew and Fredrick a,William ,and a Henry .little is known of these men
there parents probably were born about 1716 It has been speculated that they
are the grandsons of Henri Cabanis, through his son Henry possible only if
he were older than what one usually thinks of as an infant ,say if he were
about 12. I do believe in those days that this was the way it was perhaps
in order to be called a boy one needed to be 16 as the list of the Mary and
ann lists sons daughters and infants one thin g for sure the mother was
at least not for all of these sons Jane Allen I suppose she could have been
the mother of a coulple of the older ones but it is also possible she
married another Cavinis altogether simply because she is mentioned in her
fathers will as Jane Allen now Caviness does not mean she married Henry or
that she mothered his children Does anyone have any definate proof for
this relationship ?any ideas appreciated pat
