Subject: Re: estate
Sue actually , I am trying to disprove a relationship between
executor of
the estate of Sarah Caviness ,and William Carr, and the orphan children
that
were bound out to various Caviness family members ,after Sarah's
death
in
1803 .My genealogy book states that William Carr was a brother to
Sarah
Caviness the deceased . I think this is wrong ,and is based entirely on
the
fact that he was named executor of her will (along with Rolly Spinks)
, my
genealogy book had that Mary Caviness(Polly ) her daughter was co
executor
.It was found after the book was published the information that the
children
were bound out and their ages ,and Mary was only 9 . Imagine my
surprise
to find it was Rolly Spinks , and not Polly Caviness who was coexecutor of
this estate I understand was somewhat known in the community but also
married to a Carr also . I was in Randolph Co and they have a folder there
with records of most of this transaction but did not study the entire
thing
as well as I should , what I was mostly concerned that day with
proving
something else wrong , which i did ,this genealogy is so messed up . I
also
have it on good authority that the William Carr suspected of being
Sarah
Caviness's brother did have a sister Sarah born in this time frame
however
she married a David Fanning . I have found not one shred of evidence
that
Sarah Caviness that died in 1803 was a Carr other than he was executor of
her will . I think he lived fairly near Sarah lived in the S E corner of
Randolph .. and figure out why he and Rolly were named executors when
Sarah had her deceased husbands families near the families that along
with
Joseph Craven recieved her children , (They were bound out to them
)
any ideas greatly appreciated
