Looking for information on Sarah CAVEN d/o Alexander and Sarah (nee?) CAVEN in March of
1753. She married about 1772 to Richard SNEATH in Ireland. They had a son,George b. about
1773 and sometime in 1774 they emigrated to Middletown, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
The only other person known to have come with them was Richard's 1/2 brother, George
SNEATH. Family information has them leaving from Derry in 1774. I don't know where in
Ireland either family was living. Richard was b. Sept. 2, 1751 in Ireland to George and
Ann (nee?) SNEATH. The SNEATH'S were transplants from England sometime in the late
1600's. Richard became a circuit riding minister and later lived in Lancaster Co. PA.
Sarah died in Delaware Co. PA in 1819 and Richard remarried and died in New Jersey. I
don't know if the following man is related to my Sarah or not.
There was a Robert Caven listed in the 1771 Mt Joy tax list in Lancaster co Pa and as a
pew holder in the Donegal Pres. church in Lanc Co in 1778-1790. I also found him in the
tax list for a couple of the years and in the 1800 census with 4 males under 10 2 males
10-16, 1 male 16-26, 1 male 26-45, 1 male & up and 1 female 45 and up. He then
disappears.
I have no other information on CAVEN'S.
Selma
