I am new to the list, so I thought I would post some of my family
obituaries to see if any of you are related to my line of Cavins'.

"Paul Cavins Dies at Home Near Murray
"Paul Cavins died at his home one-half mile West of Murray at 3:30
o'clock this morning. He had been in failing health for more than a
year.
"Mr. Cavins was born August 28, 1871 to the late John and Martha Cavins
in Boone county near Murray, and he lived in that area all his life.
His parents were one of the first families to settle in the region.
"He married Miss Lena Flynt in 1896 and she preceded him in death in
November, 1939. He was a member of the Mount Zion Methodist church and
a former member of the Boone County Welfare board and the Boone County
Farm bureau, in which he was active for many years.
"Survivors are two daughters, Miss Mabel Cavins of the home and Mrs.
P.M. Marr, Milan; three brothers, J.L. and J.C. Cavins of Emmett, Idaho,
and Ernest Cavins, San Jose, Calif.; and one sister, Mrs. M.T. Robinson
and one niece, Mrs. Martha Shock, both of 203 South Sixth Street,
Columbia.
"Funeral services will be conducted at Mount Zion church at 2 o'clock
Sunday afternoon by the Rev. Fred P. Hanes, pastor of the Wilkes
Boulevard Methodist church. The body will remain at Willetts Funeral
home until time for services."
It doesn't say in the article, but he died 18 Jan 1952.
