Robbintina, My sister, Barbara Cavin, forwarded you note to me. I am Anne
Cavin, I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota. My e-mail address is:
ACavin(a)AOL.com
I am very interested in your search and am the family historian for my
part of
the family. I am very glad you were able to contact Barbara . Her
email
address is REVCAVIN(a)AOL.COM
I have some copies of letters from a Robert Cavin in Philadelphia, PA. at
about the time you know of a Robert Cavin. I am at my office now and I
have
that information at home. I will send you what I find. If you are
willing to
send me your "snail mail" address I would appreciate having
it as I do not
know how to scan pages into the computer. So if what I have is of several
pages, I would rather send it the slow way. I will send you email telling
you
what I have found. I look forward to learning more about the family.
Unfortunately, Sara Rench Newcomer Cavin ( she married William Brooks Cavin
06 June 1910) died in February 1979 at age 93 and is no longer a source of
information. I did ask her lots of questions while she was alive and I am
certain I have some information which will be of interest to you. The Cavins
are Quakers back about 200 years. and are from Ireland, near Dublin. There
is a homestead named " Hill Head" in Ireland; I think it is in County Cavan,
though I am not positive. I will have to look it up in what ever I have at
home. The information will come out of the family tree kept in the front
of a
Bible. I think the Bible is in German, though how that fits is no
clear.
