Dia Dhuit (Hello!)
Greetings to All, again!
I was just recently informed by a fellow List Member that the message
that I sent out the other day concerning "The CAVIN Family Genealogy
Forum" was not received by her properly. She indicated that there was
nothing in the body of the message and asked that I send all messages in
"plain text", since some of you might not be able to read "HTML"
messages. I totally agree with her, and I thought that I was doing just
that. However, I just recently downloaded and installed "Netscape
Communicator 4.05", and I'm still trying to get used to it...tweaking it
when ever I find out something wrong, or what ever. Well, I checked my
"Message Preferences" and saw that I had not "checked" the box that
converts the message into plain text. I have since done this and I hope
that you get a copy of message OK this time.
If you would, I'd really appreciate it if you would send me a brief
message as to the integrity of the first message, as you received it,
and to the integrity of this message, as you received it. The entire
contents of the message that sent out earlier this week is shown below:

I just visited "The CAVIN Family Genealogy Forum", which a good many of
you are aware of, at:
http://www.genforum.com/cavin/
and the following message was included in our Forum Page:
"Important Reminder: Please use VERY descriptive subjects in your posts
at all times.
"Try to include as much summary info in the subject. Example: If you had
info on: John Smith born 1918 in New York,
"Bad Subject: genealogy
"Bad Subject: John Smith
"Great Subject: John Smith 1918 in NY
"The rule of thumb is to include at least one geographical reference and
one date in the subject."
There are a good many postings about our CAVIN Family Members at this
site, so let's try to abide by what has been
requested. It is a very simple request.
Most of you aren't aware of this, but several of us had to "struggle" to
get "The CAVIN Family Genealogy Forum"
established at this site. We are getting good responses and inquiries
there....not breaking any records yet, but I feel
good about it. Besides, it helps us all out in our searching for our
elusive relatives.
This would also be a good thing to do when posting to "The CAVIN-List",
but don't expect it to become a
"cast-in-concrete" rule. There are enough rules out there right now, so
except for the rules of common sense,
courtesy and respect, please send your posting to OUR List in the
manner that is most comfortable for you.
Kindest Regards,
