The idea was to have the archive address subscribed to the list
and each message would be sent there as they went out to the
other subscribers. They did get most of the list Nov messages
up but ran out of span on their disk and had to wait to get the
other messages up. The new up grade should solve that problem.
RootsWeb is owned, and run, by two people, Brian and Karen.
They both have other jobs and have to fit this in as they can.
They also pay for a lot of it our of their pocket. They accept
donations but insist we tell everyone the list are free and no
one has to pay anything to be on one.
mailing list is only one of the things they do. check out the
Rootsweb webpage at the address under my signature. Lots of good
stuff there.

Dear Virgina,
I, too, tried to get the CAVIN name on the GenForum list of
queries a
couple of weeks ago, but their reply to me, like their reply to
you,
stated it was too rare a name to list and asked that I have at
least two
other people send request for the name before they would list
it. Well,
between you and I, that's two people who have requested it.
All we need
is one more person. Come on CAVIN cuzzins'!
By the way....in reference to an earlier eMail from you to the
List
regarding Spam....I have not experienced any increase in Spam
since
joining the CAVIN-L List. As a matter of fact, if I get any
Spam, it
might be only one or two a week. Lucky, I guess.
On another topic....It seems that not all of the 1998 postings
are
showing up at the CAVIN-L Mailing List Archives. Is this due
to the
upgrades that ROOTSWEB IS CURRENTLY undertaking?
Best Regards to All,
Les - cavin(a)charlotte.infi.net
