This is a new list with few postings, but hopefully it will grow
in the future. I would like the list members to decide whether
they want this list to go on the archive webpage. Because we are
just getting started anyone posting here would know in advance
their posting would go onto the web and not just to the people on
the list. Would it make a difference to your postings?
Please vote on this, yes or no. We have 16 people on the list
now, you can send your replies to the list or to me at
vewing(a)ktc.com.
Below is the message I sent to my 'older' lists. Please read it.

Some of you may be aware many of the RootsWeb list are having
their archives put on a web page. The idea was to make all the
messages available to everyone in the world.
Many of the listowners were concerned because that would make
available all of the addresses of the list members who had posted
to the list at any time, it would also provide material to anyone
who would like to copy and sell it as their own work.
I has been announced that all the archives will now have a
password and available to only those having that password. The
password would be sent to subscribers through the list. As many
of us have learned by personal experience, anything posted to the
web is going to be passed on to others and that will include the
passwords, I am sure.
All the messages are already available to the subscribes by
sending for the archives. I will send instructions to anyone
interested.
The advantage of the webpage would make it easier to browse the
messages.
I have mixed emotions about this because I am trying to 'second
guess' what my list members would want. I would like to hear
from you. You may reply to the list or to me personally.
There is no way to delete postings or addresses. It is assumed
that what you send to the list was intended to be made available
to the world.
