Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

You do not have to know when or where the person was located. You do not have
to fill in all of the 'blanks'. I have been selecting a state and entering only
the surname, selecting 'all meridians' as a means of finding how many people
with that surname held patents in that state. You can add a given name to
shorten the search, the meridian, if you know, and even the patent number if you
have that. You can order certified copies of the patent from this page if you
like or use it to get a description of the property.
