I have searched without success for the parents of John Robert (or Robert J.) Cavin, born
1821 AL. His parents are listed as having been born in TN on the censuses.
John Robert married Martha Lucinia Matthews about 1839 in (most probably) Jackson Co, AL.
Robert and family are on the 1860, 1870, and 1880 Jackson Co, AL censuses.
His daughter, Martha Angeline (Angie), born Feb 3, 1864 in Jackson Co, AL married William
A. Davis born July 17, 1863 in TN. Their first child was born in 1883 in AL; their second
child, born 1884 was born in TX. William and Angie are on the 1900, 1910, and 1930
Eastland Co, TX censuses.
William died Feb 23, 1948 in Eastland Co, TX; Angie died June 27, 1942. Both are buried
in the Eastland City Cemetery, Eastland Co, TX.
My line descends down through their daughter, Selma Sylvia Davis who married William Erron
Finley and lived in the Eastland area all of their lives.
I would love to exchange information with anyone else researching this line. Angie and
Bill did not move from AL to TX alone -- Bill's brother, half brother, and mother
came; there are many Cavins in the Eastland area as well.
