I found a cryptic note on a rootsweb search that has Lonnie_Hare stating, "I
found that Emma's parents were Edmond Washington Cavin and Mary Elizabeth
Baldwin Beasley. Emma is one of 14 children. Her siblings names were William,
Ada, Cora, Elizabeth, Mary Etta, Noah, Martha Ella, Zilphy O., Robert E.,
Texarkana, Sam M., Benjamin Wheeler, and Clarence R. The family lived in Bowie Co.,
Texas, in the late in 1800's."
In the archives, I see no other messages listed as connected to this
message, but I am curious because:
I have a lonely Edmond Cavin hanging in my family tree. Maybe he is Lonnie's
Edmond (or yours) as well? He is the son of William (b. 1814-1822 --
conflicting census records) and Harriet (b. 1826-1828) Cavin. Edmond is listed in
the 1860 census with parents -- he was 5. The family was in Mississippi. In
the 1870 census the family is in Burnet Co., TX, but this time, the child
between siblings Mary and William is listed as John -- he was 16. I think maybe he
was Edmond John or John Edmond. Calculated from the ages cited for Edmond and
then John, he would have been born between 1853 and 1855.
Does this fit with your Edmond?
