I have a bit of information on Burnet Co. Texas .......L.W. Cavin
acquired land ....League/section 1336 , Abst. # 1222 (in Austin), J.R.
Cavin, League 1333, Abst #1221 (in Austin) I would assume "in Austin" would
mean where it is filed??.

Dear Mystery Cavin Descendant,
I cannot help you much with the information you are seeking right now.
But,
we are in the same boat. Our oldest known Cavin is purportedly a
Burnet
Cavin, too. What we do not know is WHICH Burnet/Burnett in Texas (two
counties with different spellings and one town). Have you tied your
Cavins/Cavin to a particular area for CERTAIN?
This is the limited information we have:
Byron Hamilton Cavin
married 2: Hannah Krail
Byron and Hannah had the following children:
(1) A.D. Cavin (b. May 4, 1909, Burnett, TX; died abt. 1956,
Eagle,
CO.)
married Nell Guest Vail (b. Oct. 29, 1911, Wynnewood,
OK)
(2) Hobson Cavin (b. ?; d. Eagle, CO)
He was physically handicapped and never married. There
is
a Georgia telephone listing with the name of Hobson Cavin. With such
an
unusual name, I cannot help but hypothesize that these Burnett, TX, Cavins
may have traveled east from Georgia with however many unknown stops in
between.
(3) Rubye H. Cavin (b. 9-17-1895; d. 9-22-1975, bur. 9-26-1975,
Rosebud Cemetery, Glenwood Springs, CO)
married Henry Sharver
We believe from family "lore" that Byron was quite old when he married
Hannah. He had grown children by her as well as some younger children.
Byron died when Hannah's children were young. She left TX with her
children
and the younger children of Byron's first wife and moved to
Colorado which
was where her family was living.
Outside of this, we know nothing -- YET!
If any of your family connects with our family, please keep us in mind for
sharing. Certainly, the commonality of Burnett birthplaces and relatively
small time range should give us pause to hypothesize that we are distant
family.
