In response to a message posted by Cathy searching for a Chick/Chuck Cavins (whose family
name was originally Cavin):
William and Harriet (unknown) Cavin who were respectively born 1814-23, GA, and 1826-28,
SC, had 8 children.
One of them was named Byron Hamilton Cavin, b. 1846-48, AL. He was married twice: 1)
Amanda (unknown), b. 1846-49, GA; 2) Hannah Krail, b. 1873-74, TX.
Byron and Amanda had four chidlren. One of them was Charles, b. 1867-68. I do not know
his wife's name (if there was one).
The other male children (and the ones to pass on the Cavin name) were from Byron's
second marriage: Bruce Hobson Cavin or Hobson Bruce Cavin, b. 1898; and Arlen Dale Cavin,
b. 1908. I know for certain that neither of these sons had a child named Charles
(besides, being the youngest of Byron's children, they were too young to have a child
born in the late 1800s as you believe your Chick was born.
Therefore, I wonder if Charles Cavin, son of Byron Hamilton Cavin, might have had a son
named Charles, nicknamed Chick or Chuck.
OR, might your Chick possibly have been born as early as 1867-68? Could your dad and
uncle have been born to an older father and younger mother (like my Charles' father
who had his youngest child when in his sixties?)?
Just tossing in some ideas. . .
