Hi Sandy,
Unfortunately, I don't have anything on my CAVEN family in Ireland or the
US. I know that Sarah was born Mar. 1753 to Sarah and Alexander CAVEN. She
married Richard SNEATH about 1773 and they came to the US in 1774 with a
son, George b in 1773. I have no idea who her siblings were. I have
checked the remains of the 1766 Irish census, there were a couple of CAVEN'S
listed in it, but no Alexander, and no SNEATH families. I have a
suspicion that Richard might have been part of the SNEATH family that was in
Cookstown, Northern Ireland, but even that is only an assumption with little
to go on. The SNEATH name is
basically from England, brought into Ireland I am figuring
somewhere before 1751 as Richard was born in Ireland from his own statement.
The family in Cookstown, would fit the time frame of my Richard, but records
are not very good for the mid 1700's. Since I really don't know the parish
and townland that the families are from I would have to try searching the
whole of Ireland. I can't find anyplace that it says he left specifically
from Northern Ireland for the US except one reference made by an early
family member and I have no idea where he got the info from.
Wish I could be of more help to you. I am interested in any CAVEN'S in this
time frame. Both my CAVEN and SNEATH names are not real common in Ireland.
I have not seen it as Cavenaugh in anything that mentions Sarah. The family
Bible page just had CAVEN written on it.
Selma

Hi
I read this message and was wondering if you could share what you had on
the Cavens or Cavins Family in Ireland? I have my mother father family
from there but yet to prove how, I have a John Cavins one of my First
Cavins that came to the U S around 1700s My Cavins or Caven family was in
the military alot of them, and settled in Indiana for several years then
my line moved later in 1882 to the Texas area some going to Oklahoma then
to Arkansas. Would be happy to share what I have if you want to,
thank
sandy

I am looking for where in Ireland Sarah was born. I don't have any
information on her siblings or on her parents.
Thanks,
