Joseph and Hannah Cavin moved to Polk Co., MO, in about 1842, from Bedford
County, TN. They had a daughter named Sarah Ann Elizabeth, born 9/27/1833,
died 12/22/1899. She was the second wife of Dr. Samuel S. Burdett, his
first wife having been her sister Polly Cavin.
I don't have the names of the children of Sarah Ann Elizabeth's brothers,
but a query at the Polk County Website should help you there. It isn't hard
to
imagine that one of her brothers named a daughter after her.
So far, I have seen the surname for this family spelled as Cavin/Cavins,
Caven/Cavens, Cavan, and Carvin.
Good luck.
Charlotte

Sarah Elizabeth was a popular name of my "Cavens" Could
they have
misspelled the name somewhere along the way?
