Thank you for your response. However, I recently received a reply from
Virginia Ewing. She has ound record of John Gilbert Woodward's marriage to
Mary Ann Shaffer. Therefore, we were incorrect to assume that her maiden
name was Caven, as it was Shaffer.
So, I guess the Caven was a dead-end; but I have a new path--Shaffer.
Regards and warm holiday greetings,
Carol Woodward Noble

I finally got my Dad to go through his "stuff." He found a letter from a
cousin, Rex Slack, to my Aunt.
In this letter, Rex and his Mother, (Chloe Belle), visited cemetaries in
Fair Grove, Greene Co. and Elkland, Webster Co. They took a photo of
James Marion Cavin's and Mary Ann Axie (Wood) Cavin's grave stones. BUT,
the letter didn't say where the photo was taken.
My father has some family info on Mary Ann Axie Woods Parents and siblings.
We just need to figure out if we are talking about the same J.M. Cavin.
The dates of birth and death sound right. My Dad will contact his sister
to find out if she knows the names of any of his siblings.
Do the names: Mrs. Aruille (Wood) Cavin; Dorothy Bass; Sara Jane
Beckenbite (or Beckenrite) mean anything to you?
