2 James Cavin
A memorial service for James E. Cavin will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at
Amvest Post No. 17 in Sandusky.
Mr. Cavin, 61, of Sandusky and formerly of Bowling Green, died Wednesday
(Oct. 11, 2000) at Erie County Care Facility in Huron.
He was self employed.
An Army veteran, he was a post commander for Amvets Post No. 17. He was
named the 2000-01 All-State Post Commander and also was a state commander
aide and third vice-commander for District No. 13. He was a member of Moose
Lodge No. 471 and Sons of American Legion Post No. 83.
Mr. Cavin graduated from Portage High School.
Born March 1, 1939, in Sandusky, to Sewell H. and Eilene (Van Vorhis)
Becker, he married Dorothy (Senne) Blair on July 4, 1998. His mother and
wife survive.
Also surviving are three daughters, Cindy Hall, Diana Foster and Carol
Martinez; two sons, Danny and Robert; four stepdaughters, Paula Haney,
Grace Nold, Dee Rausch and Susan Ashley; four stepsons, Phillip Haney,
Thomas Blair, Scott Blair and Jeffrey Blair; four sisters, three brothers;
and several grandchildren, stepgrandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, and stepfather, Sam Becker.
Visitation is today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at David F. Koch Funeral
Home, Sandusky. The Amvets post will hold a service beginning at 7 p.m.
