Longmont Ledger (Longmont, Boulder county)
Feb 12, 1897
CAVEY--In Longmont, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Sarah Hinman, Wednesday
evening, Feb 10th, 1897, Mrs. Sarah Cavey, aged 84 years.
Mrs. Cavey was born in England and came directly to Longmont in 1871, previous to the
organization of the town, and has lived either in the town or in its vicinity ever since.
She took cold a short time ago, which settled on her lungs; the heart being also effected.
While these trouble were the immediate cause of her death, her age was such that she could
not recuperate. She was the mother of Thos. Cavey, Stephen Cavey, Mrs. Sarah Hinman of
Longmont, and Mrs. Dan Tracey, who lives near Denver; having one son and one daughter in
England; besides 32 grand children and 12 great grand children, making just fifty direct
descendents who are now living.
The funeral ceremonies were appointed for this (Friday) morning, at the Baptist church,
and the interment at Burlington cemetery.

NOTE: There is a Daniel P. Tracey 101040535....and a Mary Tracey 101040412 that shows the
same momument....This Mary could be Sarah's daughter...research would need to be
done...If this is correct, it would be nice if Daniel and Mary were tied, and Mary tied to
her mother.
