Hello,
Just thought I would send you the information that I have.... It came from
a copy of a book..I only have the title page and the page tat has mr cave on
it...so maybe you can find this book and look at if fot yourself.
the book is: History of Marion County, Missouri. written or published by:
E. F. Perkins in 1884 in St. Louis.
The page says...
Rev. William D. Cave
Mr. Cave was born in this county January 30, 1845. He is a son of William
D. and Frances (Smith) Cave, both natives of Orange County, Virginai. They
came to Marion county in 1830, where Mr Cave, sr., died, Aug. 24, 1849. Mrs
Frances Cave is stilll living with her son, the subject of this sketch. Mr.
Cave was but four years old when his father died. He began his education in
the common schools of the district, doing farm work when not in school. He
afterward attended the LaGrange Baptist College, and the Theological School
in Greeneville, South Carolina. He was licensed and ordained to the ministry
in October, 1875, since which time he has been actively employed in
preaching, except in 1882, when he was deterred by ill health. On Nov. 15,
1865, Mr. Cave was married to Miss Catherine Shults, who is a native of St.

(Wiseman) Shults. Two children have been born of this marriage: Wesley A.,
and William Elbert D. In 1865 Mr. Cave began purchasing the interest of the
seven other heirs to his father's estate. He now owns 292 acres of Marion
county's most productive soil. Mr. Cave is at present justice of the peace
in fabius township. He is a missoinary Baptist and an ardent worker for the
cause of Christianity.
I dont know if thise will help, but I hope it does, good luck.
