Subject: 1751-John CAVENDISH, tailor by trade; Williamsburg, VA
Thank you. I am new to the CAVENDISH board.
Might anyone be able to IDENTIFY the below mentioned John CAVENDISH, whom
I
supposing was employed as a taylor, of Williamsburg, VA? He is mentioned
in
two (2) newspaper ads (one as a contact in 1751; secondly (four months
later)
as the creator of the ad in 1751)? Does anyone know where he relocated?
The part of the ad which probably states SAME has been damaged.
Please note that within the following ad, that the printers used the
letter
"f" for today's "s". I've transcribed them exactly as
printed, including
italics. Forgive me - a few words were smudged and or had damage to the
print
(difficult to decypher &/or read):

On 04/18/1751, in the Virginia Gazette (Page 3, Column: 2), the following
was published:
Williamsburg, April 18, 1751
THE Subfcriber, lately arriv'd from London performs all sorts of
Landscape(?), Hep(?),
and Houfe Painting, in the beft and exacteft Manner, at reafonable
Rates.
Who-
ever are pleas'd to employ me, fhall be faithfully ferv'd, by
Their
humble
Servant,
John
Kneff(?)
N. B. Enquire for me at Mr. Galt's, Watchmaker, or at Mr. Cavendifh's,
Taylor, in
Williamsburg.
FOUR MONTHS LATER, we find the following ad:

If anyone would like the link to 1751 newspaper articles, please advise.
I
believe that last is that John Cavendish is intending to move in the
Spring,
wanting to discharge all of his local (Williamsburg) debts.
Respectfully Requested,
Sandra HUMPHRIES RAEDEL
