Several researchers of Joseph Cavender, s/o Ezekiel, have him married to Miriam Henry.
You can see this information at the Rootsweb World Connect site. Search for Joseph
Cavender and look at the database called "thegillons". This tree gives him
daughters Rebecca, Henrietta (b. 1814), Angeline (abt 1821), Emmaline (abt 1824), Martha
Celia (1826) Catherine (1832) and sons John H. (1812), Wade Hampton (1817), and Joseph
Milton (1836). This does not square with the 1820 Gwinnett Census where he has 2 sons
under 10, 5 daughters under 10, and 2 daughters 10-16. The sons work but we are missing
some daughters. I'm hoping the two Cavender girls who marry in Henry Co., GA -Nancy
(m. John Ellis 23 Jan 1828) and Jane R. (m. James Harp 28 July 1825) are the two daughter
10-16 on the census. I especially like the Wade Hampton son as a clue since we have so
many Hamptons in the Ellis Tree and Nancy named two of her boys Joseph and Hampton. Jane
also named a son Joseph and another son !
has the Wade middle name. I am desc. from Nancy Roann Cavender. Do you know Jane's
middle name? Are Jane and Nancy sisters, and the daughters of Joseph? Where did you get
the name Emily? I believe Joseph must have had a wife before Miriam. I have his bd as
1766, in 1836 he would have been 70 and Miriam (bd 1789) is too young to be mother of
older 2 girls. I suppose the two older girls do not have to be Joseph's daughters,
could be servants or extended family. Do you definitely have Jane connected to Joseph?
BTW many researchers have Ezekiel m. Elizabeth Ann Stallard.
