I am researching a Larkin Cornel/Cornell/Cornwell. I know you are researching the Cornell
family in MS.
He is listed in household 237 of the 1850 Pontotoc County, MS census:
Larkin Cornel b 1825 SC,
Mary 19 AL,
William 2 MS
Minerva 8/12 MS
At households:
242 was a David Price
245 was a Stacey Cornel 45 (F) SC, Mary 21 TN, Rebecca 19 TN
246 was a John Price
1885 was a Eli Cornel 60 NC, Elinor 25 SC, Rhoda 7 MS, Elvira 5 MS, George 3 MS and Nathan
1 MS
There is a marriage or Larkin Cornwill/Cornwall to Lucetta/Lusetta Price on 22 January
1857 or 1861 in Pontotoc County, MS. Is this a second wife?
I located a Stacy Cornwell in the 1840 Bedford County, TN census: 1 male 10-15, 1 male,
15-20, 1 female under 5, 1 female 10-15 and 1 female 40-50.
In the 1830 Bedford County, TN census was a John Cornwell with 2 males under 5, 1 male
5-10, 1 male 30-40, 1 female under 5 and 1 female 20-30.
Could Larkin be the son of Stacy, possible widow of John Cornwell of Bedford County, TN?
Or is he the son of Eli Cornel and a first wife? Or is this just a coincidence these
families were in Pontotoc County, MS at the same time?
Any help with this family would be greatly appreciated. Please post to the board or
contact me at skendall(a)kc.rr.com.
Thanks
Scott
