Sheryl - There are two other cemeteries in Ellis County near Ovilla where
lots of Cavenders are buried, including my gg-grandfather John Calvin
Cavender, who is also a Confederate War pensioner in Texas. One is in the
Sardis community, which is a lovely little church cemetery. The other is the
Midlothian Cemetery. There is an online list of Cavenders buried there.
http://www.cemeteries-of-tx.com/Etx/Ellis/cemetery/midlothian.htm There
were several John Calvin Cavenders in various generations as well. They
moved to Texas from Tennessee after Tennessee returned to the Union. These
Cavenders were very prolific. My grandfather was one of 17 children!
Jay Cavender and I are from the same line, though he had lost all the Texas
Cavenders when they moved. I restored them to his research, and he sent me
the origins, though I have not updated them in several years. Here is his
email address: jaycav(a)worldnet.att.net
